Zidane has released a fresh statement about his journey at Real Madrid and has shared the reason for leaving Real Madrid. Fans are pretty hurt to know the reason as it was totally unexpected as everyone was assuming other reasons for his departure. We had seen Benzema giving a statement where he said "I do not see Zidane departing Real Madrid. He will not leave, He will stay"

Anyways, he still left Real Madrid.

Undoubtedly, he won everything for Real Madrid both as a Manager and a player. His first spell at Madrid was successful as compared to the next one.

Why did Zidane leave? Why would Zidane leave if the management did not want to sack him? Why wouldn’t Zidane stay?

All these questions starting with why but the exact reason is still unknown as Zidane himself has not released any statement about it.

Well, there might be many possible reasons that made Zidane lose his job at Madrid. Let me try to explain these in points so that we would exactly understand the real reason.

1. He was questioned about his decisions on the transfer market. He let Sergio Reguilon and Achraf Hakimi leave the club when they were performing for the club and their potential became known to the fans. Real sold these players when they needed them the most. Thus, these decisions affected Real Madrid in the whole season when they were struggling with injuries.

2. When did Real Madrid finish trophyless last season? As a fan, doesn’t it hurt hearing Real Madrid finishing their season trophyless? Yes, they finished the 2020/21 Season without any trophy. The last time they were not able to win any trophy or silverware was in 2009/2010. If we dig more into the past, Real Madrid also finished their season trophyless in 2004/2005 and 2005/2006. These are the most recent trophyless seasons in the 21st century for Real Madrid. This is also another reason, Zidane made his decision of leaving the club.

3. The last time Zidane left in 2017, he had won 3 consecutive Champions League titles. Why did he leave then? Because he knew he wouldn’t be able to carry the whole team without Cristiano Ronaldo and it would take him time to adjust the team without their main star. He thought it’s better to leave and not see the spell where he would be struggling with the team. Same reason we can apply for his second exit as he was struggling with the team at the start of the season.

4. Another valid reason that can be assumed is his demand of buying Eden Hazard as part of his contract with Real Madrid. Even though his plans didn’t work as Hazard was injured for most of the season and did not perform up to the expectations of the board as well as the fans.

According to me, these are the reason for Zidane’s exit as the Real Madrid Manager.

Now the question is, Should Zidane have stayed at Real Madrid?

Zidane has been a Real Madrid player and was undoubtedly one of the best midfielders. He had a career that every player dreamt of. Everyone doubted him when he was given a chance to manage Real Madrid's first team. It was his first time but everything he touched at Real Madrid, turned into silverware. Everyone was amazed to see a manager winning three consecutive Champions League in a row. He made himself visible to other managers and sent a clear message that he is the best. 

This gives his haters a chance to criticize him and mock him whenever he loses. It's quite simple, people expect him to win every match according to Real Madrid's reputation. After all, being Real Madrid's manager isn't everyone's cup of tea. But Zidane showed his real worth and has now won 11 trophies in a very short span of time.

There are a lot of questions to be answered and fans are curious about the future of Real Madrid. Let us begin to answer these questions one by one. I will be sharing my opinions as a fan and would like to know about yours in the end.

      1. Is Zidane worthy of managing Real Madrid?

 Zidane is undoubtedly the greatest manager to have ever managed a team like Real Madrid. He became the first manager to have won 3 consecutive Champions League Trophies in a row. No other manager has ever done that. Winning 11 trophies at Real Madrid isn't easy at all. He won the Spanish Super cup against his biggest rival Barcelona. He has even been victorious in European Super Cup against Manchester United and Sevilla. We will never forget being crowned as the Champions of Spain lifting the La Liga title in 2020. Yes, the answer is pretty simple, Zidane is worthy of being the boss of Real Madrid.

    2. Has Zidane used the right tactics for Real Madrid?

 Every fan has a right to question the tactics being used in the game and can express their opinions freely. But there are a lot more aspects that we as a fan cannot see and arguably cannot question the manager for that. Zidane was quite okay using common 4-3-3 formation during his first spell at Real Madrid. But in the next spell as a manager, he was forced to change his tactics and formation time after time. The reason being Real Madrid was not performing due to the absence of some players. BBC had fallen apart and Benzema was the only one left in Real Madrid. It took a while for the team to adjust to the new style of play. Real Madrid emerged as the Champions of Spain in 2020 and it made fans hope to win the Champions League again. 

 Yes, it had been a difficult period for both club and the fans after Cristiano Ronaldo left for Juventus. But things have to change and the change is always for the good. We suffered at the Champions League by not performing and getting knocked out early.  

So, changing tactics was a matter of concern for everyone but Zidane did what was best for the club.

   3. Is Zidane failing at Real Madrid?

As I have mentioned earlier, it's not easy to manage a team like Real Madrid where fans always expect them to win. Due to our reputation of winning the champions league 13 times, both the club and the fans want to see Real Madrid lifting more trophies time and again. Zidane's first spell wasn't easy but what he did was exceptional. His second spell was even difficult but he managed to get Real Madrid back on track and winning the La Liga title. 

 Despite a lot of injuries in the 20/21 season, he managed to give a fight for the title till the end. We still have one game remaining and a chance to retain our title if Atletico drops points. Anyway, we still managed to reach the Champions League Semi-finals defeating some big clubs like Atlanta, Inter Milan, and Liverpool. Even though we weren't favorites of winning Champions leagues due to a lot of injuries and probably missed our best players in most of the matches, we had a great run. 

 Coming to the conclusion of this question, Zidane hasn't failed at Real Madrid and deserves to be the manager of this club.

   4. Should Zidane be staying at Real Madrid?

 Undoubtedly yes. Real Madrid needs Zidane to stay as there are no feasible options that could replace him.

   5. What will convince Zidane to stay at Real Madrid?

 Zidane must first persuade himself of the viability of the project. Fans are rooting for him and they don't want him to depart. No one has doubted him for his second spell as Real Madrid manager. Real Madrid has to promise him some important signings like Mbappe and Halaand. They need to solve their goal-scoring problems in order to convince Zidane to stay.

   6. Is it going to help Real Madrid in the Transfer window if Zidane stays?

 Yes, there are no better options to replace Zidane with. Zidane is idolized by many players and they want to train under him. This applies to French Mastero Kylian Mbappe who wants to play under Zidane. Zidane being the manager of Real Madrid will convince Kylian to make a move for Real Madrid.
